Lingoodie is 100% free and pays you from ad revenue. A short rewarded ad plays before each lesson, it's what funds your payouts. If an ad blocker or a private DNS is switched on, the ad can't load, so the lesson can't start and you can't earn points. To use Lingoodie, allow its ads. Here's how to turn off the most common blockers.
You only need to allow ads for Lingoodie. You can keep your blocker on for everything else by allowlisting the app.
Turn off Private DNS
1
Open your phone's Settings.
2
Go to Network & internet (on Samsung: Connections → More connection settings).
SettingsNetwork & internetPrivate DNS3
Tap Private DNS.
4
Select Automatic or Off (if it's set to a custom hostname like
dns.adguard.com or a NextDNS address, that's what's blocking ads).5
Reopen Lingoodie and start a lesson.
Disable ad-blocker apps or a blocking VPN
1
Open Settings › Apps and look for ad blockers such as AdGuard, Blokada, DNS66, or a "DNS changer".
2
Open the app and turn off its filtering, or add Lingoodie to its allowlist/whitelist.
3
Check for a blocking VPN: Settings › Network & internet › VPN and turn off any active ad-blocking VPN.
SettingsNetwork & internetVPN4
Reopen Lingoodie.
Once the blocker is off, the ad will load, your lesson will start, and your points will count.
